"OWNMUSE FALL WINTER '11"
Our collection was inspired by a city girl encumbered by the weight of the present, a calm in the midst of the riot of life. This fall, OwnMuse takes inspiration from the hustle of the city and learns to embrace its culture. Expect smart colour blocking in a rich colour palette of sumptuous maroons and mustard yellows, feminine yet sporty tops in an opposing yet harmonious pairing of airy chiffons with thick rib and textured metallics, and chic, clean cut dresses in fuss free knits.
LABEL CONCEPT
Inspired greatly by vintage and the 1950’s, OwnMuse's pieces are of a soft colour palette of pale peaches and luscious creams, and contrasted them with strong textured blacks and heather greys for that bit of boldness and edge.
OwnMuse silhouette is flirty and feminine with a touch of elegance and edge. Expect to see clean and modern lines and details such as pleating, ruching and touches of beading.
With full high waist skirts, soft chiffon blouses, cute detailed cropped tops and chic textured jackets, OwnMuse whisks you away to the lovely period of the 1950’s, back to the vintage era and back here to the modern world.
DESIGNER PROFILE
OwnMuse is a collaboration of two best friends with two different styles.
Johanna, with her love for romance and uniqueness, and Juang, who is bold and has desire to always be different. Both graduated from Temasek Polytechnic in 2008 with diplomas in Apparel Design and Merchandising and have since pursued their dream of being a part of the fashion industry.
Johanna has been on the Directors list, receiving the Directors Honours award for 3 years in a row during her years in Temasek Polytechnic. She brings her determination and perseverance to the team alongside her skills in designing and sewing.
Shu Juang was a fashion assistant at ACP magazines for Cleo and Women's Weekly working behind the scenes and alongside the fashion team on fashion and product shoots. She brings her knowledge of fashion and trends to the table, constantly pushing the boundaries to make OwnMuse stand out and not just another clothing label.
Having a special bond and appreciation for each other's fashion, coupled with their passion and determination to pursue their dream, they both have come together with the same goal in mind; to create fashion that will inspire and excite, fashion that is individual and unique.
