LABEL CONCEPT

Call it "A T-Shirt Named Desire". In the 1950s movie "A Streetcar Named Desire", the late Marlon Brando shocked the world by being filmed wearing just a plain white "undershirt". Since then, the white T-shirt has gone round undergarment status to ubiquity. Kenji aims to update the Tee with a lacy twist. By subverting the casual look of the cotton t-shirt with the glamour, lightness and the mystery of lace and tulle, Kenji presents a range of unique pieces that run the gamut from gothic, to rock chic, to sweet edge.

DESIGNER PROFILE

Kenji Ng graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Building and Real Estate. However, he discovered his true calling during his national service years, and took up a part-time course in Fashion Design at NAFA. Choosing to follow his heart, he now works for a bridal shop, a job that requires him to organise two fashion shows annually, each featuring 32 dresses and four suits. He also somehow manages to find time to design outfits for about 50 couples every year.
